Hi Tom and Phil,
Thanks for the invite.
I want to engage and I want to return to work, but I need some clarity first because the mixed messages are really affecting me.
I was told I'm suspended by text after asking if I could attend the works do, which made me feel isolated, and since then the contact has been sporadic (including by text when we'd agreed on welfare calls). I've also been told during a call that you don't have a GP report, but the invite letter says "as we now have a medical report from your GP, we also intend to discuss this with you" - this has confused and worried me, I'm not sure how to react to this.
Also, the invite feels quite broad, and because it isn’t overtly clear what the meeting is for, it’s making me a little anxious if I’m honest.
I’m happy to attend the meeting, but please can you confirm:
What the meeting is actually about (basic welfare check / return to work & adjustments, or something more formal)
Whether any decisions will be made during the meeting
The update on Occupational Health – when the referral was made and when I'll be contacted
If it’s a basic welfare meeting combined with return to work, could you also send me the agenda and what type of questions you plan on asking so I can plan for it properly. In that case I wouldn’t need anyone to attend with me, but usually I would expect a return to work meeting would happern after an occupational health assesment.
But if it’s anything like an investigation, or something where decisions could be made on the day, then I’d need to arrange for someone to join me as a companion — and I just need to know that in advance.
Thank you,
Simon
